Overview and Application Guidelines

Purpose & Eligibility

The Faculty of Information offers the fellowships to a limited number of outstanding incoming students to the Master of Information (MI) or Master of Museum Studies (MMSt) programs. Open to full-time domestic and international students. Academic excellence in the admitting undergraduate degrees.

Awarded to seven (7) incoming full-time students per year, enrolled in the Master of Information (MI) and / or Master of Museum Studies (MMSt) program(s).

High standing in previous academic work. A minimum GPA of A- (3.70/4.0) is required.

Recipients must remain registered full-time for the entire academic year they hold the award.

Ineligibility

Students that are in receipt of SSHRC (CGS-M) or OGS are ineligible for this fellowship.

Award Value & Duration

Full domestic tuition. Award disbursements may be split across multiple terms depending on total value.

This award is automatically renewable for one year under the following condition(s):

    • Master of Information (MI): Cumultative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.70 or better is attained in the first 8 (4.0 FCEs) graded courses.
    • Master of Museum Studies (MMSt): Cumultative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.70 or better is attained in the first 7 (3.5 FCEs) graded courses, excluding MSL3000H, during the first 12 months of the program.

How to Apply

No separate application is required.

Deadline to Apply

Submit a complete admission application to the program by February 8 of any year. It is the responsibility of applicants to notify referees of any early deadlines for submission of documents to be considered for entrance awards consideration.


Selection Process

Recipient(s) will be informed via email from the Awards Committee (awards.ischool@utoronto.ca).
