Supervisor: Cara Krmpotich

Hillary Walker Gugan is currently a doctoral student at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on material culture and interpretive narratives within historic house museums. She is particularly interested in sensory cues found in heritage settings. Hillary has presented her research to professional organizations, academic conferences and educational institutions around the world. She was named the 2015 Edna Staebler Research Fellow at the Joseph Schneider Haus in Kitchener, Canada. Her article, “Revealing Photographs, Intimate Spaces” can be found in the March 2015 issue of Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture.
