Citation analysis for bibliometric studies and research impact

Citation analysis is a way of measuring the relative importance or impact of author, article, or publication, and explore links between them. It can be used to assess the impact of your own work, such as for grant applications, or the trends, collaboration patterns, and domain structures of a field or research network. This workshop will teach you how to search and extract citation information of research articles and their linked references efficiently from bibliographic databases. You will be introduced to common research metrics and various tools that can be used to analyze and visualize citations.

In this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Understand the basics of citation analysis and its uses for bibliometric studies and research impact assessment
  • Build skills to search and extract citation information from various databases
  • Utilize tools and additional resources to conduct citation analysis
