Cite in APA

APA is one of the most popular citation styles for academic documentation and is the preferred style of many iSchool faculty members. You will be expected to know how to use this style for many of the papers you will write. This workshop will cover citation practices for both paper and electronic sources, with myriad examples and practical exercises.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the core elements and particular characteristics of APA citation
  • Determine the correct method to cite a range of different sources, from books and articles to digital media and correspondence
  • Carry out the in-text citation of sources as well as format reference lists, in accordance with APA standards
  • Recognize the evolving nature of APA citation standards as new media forms continue to emerge and develop

Please have a pen and scrap paper handy for this workshop.
