Special Topics in Information Studies: Power, Media, and Technology

This course investigates the ways power manifests unevenly across different media, technologies, and in different cultural contexts. Through considerations of race, class, gender, and sexuality, the course addresses how media and technology are implicated in structural inequities. The course is designed to foreground the central role of technology in structuring and organizing power relations, both historically and currently.
