Create Your First iOS App
This is an in-person workshop.
In this workshop we’ll explore the essential basics of iOS App Development. This workshop also includes a demonstration of Microsoft Co-pilot AI and NASA’s “A Picture Of the Day” public API! No coding experience necessary. You’ll leave this session able to:
- Create interactive UI components and connect them to Swift code.
- Identify what makes Swift different from other programming languages.
- Identify the structure of an iOS app and where to add your own custom application logic.
- Test your app in an iOS device simulator on a Mac with XCode.
Please bring a MacBook with XCode 15.2 (download for free from the Mac App Store). If you don’t own a MacBook, you can borrow a MacBook from the iSchool Learning Hub, as supplies last. Email support.iskills@utoronto.ca by January 26 to inquire about reserving a MacBook for this workshop.
