No matter what your interests are, we’ll try our best to match you with other iSchool student(s) who will partner with you to make the most out of your time and experience here!
We invite you to sign up for the Peer Mentoring @ iSchool program for the 2023-2024 year! Mentees will be matched with 1-2 upper year student Mentor(s) who are dedicated to supporting you through your first year, and you will be part of a welcoming community of other iSchool students.

YOUR 2023-24 PEER MENTORSHIP COORDINATORS are:
Amy Fantongzhang Wang (she/ her) – UXD + ISD
A Master of Information student, is specializing in User Experience Design and Information Systems & Design. Drawing on her background in psychology, she is passionate about understanding how human behavior and cognition intersect with technology.
In her free time, Amy enjoys playing badminton, singing, and exploring the latest advancements in user experience. As a Peer Mentoring Coordinator, she aims to support students in their personal and professional growth and foster a vibrant and inclusive iSchool community.
Geranie Yuhan Zhao (she/ her) – C&T + UXD
A Master of Information student at the University of Toronto, concentrating on Culture & Technology and User Experience Design. Her primary interests lie in media theory and digital humanity. In addition to her role as a co-coordinator of the PM@i program, she holds the position of Events Vice President at the University of Toronto Chinese Music Club (UTCMC).
Prior to pursuing her master’s degree, Geranie completed a Bachelor’s degree in Book & Media Studies and Statistics, with a minor in History at UofT. She gained experience as a Teaching Assistant in the UTSG Book & Media Studies and UTM ICCIT in the previous academic year; and served as a Research Assistant at the UofT Media Ethics Lab during her final undergraduate year. Geranie is always enthusiastic about offering guidance and assistance, so feel free to reach out to her with any questions you may have.
Jefferson Ziqing Ni (he/ him) – HCDS + ISD
A Master of Information student with specializations in Human-Centred Data Science and Information System & Design. Prior to joining the iSchool, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Farmer School of Business, with a minor in Mathematics. His academic journey and professional working experience have honed his quantitative skills, enabling him to apply advanced mathematical principles to financial scenarios.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Ziqing actively contributes to campus life. As the Director of the Alumni Department at the University of Toronto Chinese Students and Scholars Association, he has been responsible for organizing various alumni networking activities, including the industry development forum. Furthermore, he served as a Teaching Assistant in Calculus during his undergraduate years. Ziqing also nurtures his passions for photography, snowboarding, and tennis. As a Peer Mentoring Coordinator, he is always eager and willing to assist incoming students, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to him if you ever have any questions.
Mark Zerui Zhang (he/ him) – HCDS
A second-year Master of Information student, concentrating in Human Centered Data Science(HCDS). He completed his undergraduate degree in Information Technology, with a minor in Japanese. He is passionate about precising physical exercise with data analysis.
In his free time, Mark enjoys doing various sports, popular music, and exploring new areas that he is not familiar with. As a Peer Mentoring Coordinator, Mark is looking forward to supporting both the mentors and the mentees in establishing their own personal development journey, and staying connected to the iSchool community
