Who we are:
The New Brunswick Public Library Service (NBPLS) is the network of public libraries in New Brunswick and is made up of one provincial office, 5 regional offices, 52 public libraries, 11 public-school libraries, a virtual branch and a provincial Talking Books Service by Mail.
The provincial library system is designed to maximize resource sharing and allows public libraries to share a single library card as well as collections, programs, statistics, online services, administration, and an automated library system.
Our libraries are in communities of all sizes across the province.
This paid internship program is designed to offer the successful candidates the opportunity to acquire professional experience in areas such as library management, circulation service, reference and reader’s advisory service, library programming activities for a range of ages (children, teens and adults), as well as collection development and management.The location of work and the responsibilities will be determined based on the operational needs of NBPLS.
To be successful:
NBPLS invites New Brunswickers completing their studies in a Master’s program in Library and / or Information Science at an accredited Canadian university now or within the next 6 months to apply for employment as a Librarian-Intern.
Bilingual (English and French) graduates from outside New Brunswick may also be considered.Positions are identified as English, Frenchor bilingual (English and French).
