General Information
The Canadian Music Centre/Centre de musique canadienne (CMC) was established in 1959. CMC is a dynamic and established charitable Not-for-Profit organization. With five regional offices across the country, the CMC provides access for performing organizations, the cultural community, and individuals to an extensive collection of music and recordings (both digital and on-site). Its music rental and publishing services include 27,000 works created by over 1,000 Associate Composers that are also available online at By supporting innovative programming, promoting composers and performers and engaging audiences with education programs, Music Services and Systems Coordinator helps to maintain the legacy of Canadian concert music and ensures the voice of Canadian composers is heard for generations to come.MISSION: The Canadian Music Centre is the catalyst that connects you to the ever-evolving world of Canadian musical creation through performance, education, and promotion.

Position Summary
This job is well suited to a person that works well in a variety of areas. The incumbent will play a crucial role in supporting several areas including CMC publishing, e-commerce, and IT systems. The work also involves providing support to composers in their use of the tools available through the CMC.

This is a full-time bilingual position based in Toronto. The Music Services and Systems Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Library Services and Centrediscs and works closely with the Manager of Music Services and the events team. The incumbent also serves as an internal Information Technology coordinator working with the external IT consultant and the CMC team overall. The CMC platforms consist of an Integrated Library System (Sydney Enterprise/Lucidia), a Customer Relations Management database (Patron Manager/Salesforce), the Content Management System (WordPress) and the E-commerce System (Woo-Commerce).


1. Music and Library Services / Composer Liaison
• Provides support for the Manager of Music Services
• Provides customer service to external clients and composers
• Invoices clients for private jobs and orders
• Assists in processing orchestral rentals
• Sends packages by mail or by courier
• Processes e-commerce orders
• Prints and binds scores
• Performs scanning of new or corrected works, as required
• Performs digital cleaning of scores, as required
• Performs library catalogue maintenance: additions, corrections, links to recordings
• Performs maintenance on the digital archive and physical archive
• Assists library patrons: general enquiries, repertoire search
• Provides support to CMC Distribution Services and Centrediscs
• Assists associate composers with use of the CMC website, score submission process, enquiries regarding holdings of their work, revisions and corrections, printing requests
• Assists new associate composers by processing contracts and creating an online profile on the CMC website
• Solicits works not yet in CMC collection
• Updates the CMC website, as required

2. IT Coordination
• Coordinates work with External consultants on CMC’s IT needs. The incumbent will effectively translate the staff operations into clear and concise tickets to be used by external developers.
• Acts as a liaison between CMC Staff and IT consultants, and is able to understand and communicate work being done by consultants to CMC staff across the organization.
• Works with and troubleshoots Sydney Enterprise, WordPress, WooCommerce and other systems, as required

3. Other duties, as required
• Provide support for concerts and events (box office, live stream support)
• Updates social media, as required

• University degree, preferable in music, library and information science, or computer science; or relevant experience
• Proficient in reading music and music theory
• Familiar with Canadian concert music
• Bilingual in English and French
• Good working knowledge of WordPress
• Proficient use of MS Office products and Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Advanced Excel skills for data clean-up is an asset
• Knowledge of database tables, SQL, Python, MS Azure cloud, B2C is an asset
• Knowledge of Patron Manager and Sydney Enterprise is an asset
• Experience in a retail environment is an asset
• Social media experience is an asset
