Job Description
Your Opportunity:Working as a member of the Research & Education team within John P. Robarts Library’s User Services department, the Serials Access Specialist will coordinate work and provide direct services related to the government publication collection. The successful candidate will act as a workflow leader by training employees; assigning and monitoring work; reviewing and adjusting procedures; and liaising with other departments and staff. They will also provide access and maintenance for the collection including updating electronic records, responsibility for collection shifts, and compiling statistics.This position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.Qualifications (Minimum):Education: Community college graduation required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience: A minimum of two years related experience required; working knowledge of web and bibliographicdatabase searching required; working knowledge of bindery techniques and processes required;working knowledge of the UTL system required; demonstrated experience working with ALMA.Skills: Intermediate Excel skills; High level of accuracy and attention to detail; Demonstrated commitment to the values of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility; Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; Excellent time management and organizational skills; Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently; Demonstrated ability to be flexible and to anticipate change; Workflow leadership and project management experience preferred; Knowledge of the core institutions and processes of Canadian government preferred.
