Job Description
What can I expect to do in this role?
To provide support to the design, development and implementation of information and information management solutions for provincial monitoring programs within the Mapping and Information Resources Branch.

How do I qualify?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical Knowledge
• Knowledge of information management and information theory, principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of GIS and general database management technologies and software.
• Knowledge of natural resource management issues and data management.
• Knowledge of worker responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Skills
• reasoning and problem solving skills to conduct analysis and support the development of information management plans to meet client/program requirements.
• analytical and evaluation skills to assess data and information systems, products, processes and methods to support application and database development.
• oral communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a team environment, interview clients/programs, speak at meetings and make presentations about information management requirements, program operations, processes, goals and objectives and business plans/strategies; explain information management strategies.
• written communication skills to prepare user needs analysis documentation.
• expertise and ability to work with several computer software programs including MS Word, MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and ArcGIS.
Additional Information:
Successful candidates may be required to undergo an employment screening check in accordance with the Ontario Employment Screening Checks Policy.
Eligibility:
• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada;
• Has graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with a diploma or an equivalent degree or postgraduate certificate in the information management field within the last four years;
• Candidates are only eligible to participate in one MNRF 12-month placement and must not have participated in the MNRF internship program in the past.
• Are not a permanent in the Ontario Public Service.
