Job ID: 196141Job Term: 1 Temporary 12-month placementWhat can I expect to do in this role?Are you interested in managing all aspect of information in a large organization? If so, we would be excited for you to join the Information Management section of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. As part of our team, you will provide support to the design, development and implementation of information and information management across the ministry.How do I qualify?Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Skills• Reasoning and problem solving skills to conduct analysis and support the development of information management plans to meet client/program requirements.• Analytical and evaluation skills to assess data and information systems, products, processes and methods to support application and database development.• Oral communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a team environment, interview clients/programs, speak at meetings and make presentations about information management requirements, program operations, processes, goals and objectives and business plans/strategies; explain information management strategies.• Written communication skills to prepare user needs analysis documentation.• Expertise and ability to work with several computer software programs including MS Word, MS Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.Technical Knowledge• Knowledge of information management and information theory, principles and techniques.• General knowledge of database management technologies and software.• Knowledge of natural resource management issues in Ontario.• Knowledge of worker responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.Additional Information: Successful candidates may be required to undergo an employment screening check in accordance with the Ontario Employment Screening Checks Policy.Eligibility:• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada; • Has graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with an information management related diploma or an equivalent degree or postgraduate certificate within the last four years;• Candidates are only eligible to participate in one MNRF 12-month placement and must not have participated in the MNRF internship program in the past.• Are not a permanent employee in the Ontario Public Service.
