The Canadian Heritage Photography Foundation (CHPF) requires a Part-Time
Archivist to assist in the cataloguing, digitization, management and storage
of photographic negatives.
In 2002, the renowned Canadian photographer Mr.
George Hunter founded the CHPF. The Foundation is now in the stages of
digitizing his collection of over 100,000 negatives and we require an
experienced Archivist to help us with this task. Duties will include
utilizing recognized standards and methodologies to curate the collection;
develop plans, specifications and processes for access to, descriptions, and
preservation of the digital material. The position will include overseeing
student volunteers and ensuring best practices as well as working with the
Foundation Administrator and Director on on-going projects.
Experience working with CMS and DMS systems is required. Our ideal candidate can work
well in a small office environment and will be excited to help guide this
Not For Profit Foundation at its early stages. We need a team player. The
position is Part Time (20 hours a week) with the possibility of Full Time
work in the future. Experience is mandatory.
