Programs and Community Relations Coordinator (6 month FT contract)

 

The Township of Tay is located in north Simcoe County on the shores of Severn Sound (Georgian Bay) and is a rural and small urban municipality.  The Tay Library has three branch libraries in Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour and Waubaushene and serves a permanent population of 10,000.

Reporting to the CEO, the Programs and Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing, delivering and monitoring all library programs, soliciting community engagement and feedback.  The Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting staff in promoting and managing Library events, programs, services and social media activity, and representing the Library at town and community events and committees.

Candidates for this position must demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills and be able to work collaboratively, constructively and cooperatively with employees and the public. Qualifications for the position include a Library Technician Diploma or equivalent and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  A Master‘s degree in Library Sciences would be considered an asset. If you have exceptional communication skills, including superior public speaking skills and experience, ability to network and build relationships with a strong public service ethic we want you to join our team. Knowledge of Microsoft office products, Symphony library system and Libraryaware would be desirable.

 

We offer a competitive rate, with provision for paid sick and vacation absence, in an interesting and positive work environment.  The range of pay is $25.83 – $30.41 per hour based on a 35-hour workweek. Occasional additional hours may be required for meetings or coverage for staff absence. The successful candidate must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License.
