Today’s labour market relies heavily on technology and requires skills and competencies that may vary from simply using an online form to apply for work, to writing a sophisticated computer program.
I have been applying for jobs for the past six months and getting nowhere. I can’t apply for senior positions because I don’t have the years of experience, but I also can’t get an entry-level job. What should I do?
The phrase, “Actions speak louder than words” is true. Most communication takes place nonverbally. In addition to preparing your answers for the interview, also prepare how you will act before, during, and after the interview. Another common phrase, “It’s not what you say but how you say it,” also holds a lot of truth.

Faculty of Information
Start work now!
The Faculty of Information needs a part-time writer/reporter/researcher from now until the end of April. In this role, you will put out a weekly newsletter, and help write and research articles for Informed magazine and the Faculty’s website.
You should be a student at the Faculty of Information and have experience writing news articles, newsletters and/or blog posts.
Expect 10 to 15 hours per week of work. If you are eligible, you can also apply to the similar job that will probably be offered as part of the Summer Work Study program.
