Professional Associations Networking Event—Save the Date!

“This year, the Faculty of Information will be hosting our 8th annual Professional Associations Networking Event! This event serves as a great opportunity to connect or reconnect with professional associations in areas related to information science and museums. Past attendees have included:

Finding Full-Time Work

“The search for full time work is a dynamic, often complex process. This session will equip you with resources, tools, and strategies that will assist you in locating and pursuing a full-time job.”

Please make sure you register and arrive on time or early—you may be denied entrance after start time. If you can’t come, cancel, as a waitlist will form, and waitlisted students will be welcomed on a first-come-first-served basis. Bring your T-Card—UofT students and recent grads only!

Program and Events Research Assistant

Location: Toronto, ON

“The McLuhan Centre for Culture and Technology has one (1) Program and Events Research Assistant (RA) position available for a qualified full-time University of Toronto PhD or Masters level graduate student.

The RA will assist the Director of the McLuhan Centre for Culture and Technology (Professor Sarah Sharma) in event and research activities at the McLuhan Centre for the 2018/2019 programing year which ends April 30 2019.

The RA is expected to work approximately 8-10 hours a week.  The RA will:

  • Provide promotional and organizational support for Monday Night Seminars (8 more seminars this academic year)
  • Assist in the promotion and organization of symposia and other events
  • Provide organizational support to McLuhan Centre Working Groups projects
  • Manage Website and Social Media

We are looking for applicants with strong organizational skills, experience in collaborative work, and event planning. Experience and interest in communication and media studies or a related field are an asset.

The RA will start as soon as they are hired with an initial contract of 3 months with a possibility of renewal. Salary is $20/hour. Please note that only successful candidates will be contacted for an interview.
