Data Carpentry and Software Carpentry – Call for helpers for February workshops

Submitted on Friday, January 17, 2020

The Data Carpentry for Social Sciences workshop (https://datacarpentry.org/lessons/#social-science-curriculum) taking place at UTM on February 10-11 is looking for helpers. Those interested should contact May Chan (ms.chan@utoronto.ca). Helpers do not need to commit to both days.

This workshop is a great opportunity to gain casual teaching experience (and possibly learn some new technical skills) for those working on instructor certification, or interesting in becoming an instructor.

Event details:
Date:               February 10-11, 2020
Time:               9 am-4:30 pm
Location:       UTM Maanjiwenendamowinan Building, room 3230 (aka Collaborative Digital Research Space), 1535 Outer Circle

If you are available, please let May know as soon as possible and she will connect you to the lead instructor.

A Software Carpentry workshop (https://software-carpentry.org/lessons/) taking place on the St. George Campus on February 20-21 is also looking for helpers. Those interested should contact Lise Doucette (lise.doucette@utoronto.ca).

Event details:
Date:               February 20-21, 2020
Time:               9 am-4:30 pm
Location:         Faculty of Information, Bissell Building, 140 St. George St., Room 538

If you are available, please let Lise know as soon as possible.

Please feel free to forward this call to other networks, as helpers do not need to be certified instructors.
