English Conversation Communities – winter 2019 dates

The Centre for International Experience (CIE) is re-starting the English Conversation Communities hubs with brand new topics.

Here are the Winter 2019 topics:

  • Week of January 14: Gestures, facial expressions, and other non-verbal communication across cultures
  • Week of January 28: Interpreting and using humour in conversations
  • Week of February 11: Relationships and dating culture(s) in Toronto
  • Week of February 25: Pop culture, arts, and sports in “The Six” (i.e. Toronto)
  • Week of March 11: How to navigate challenging or awkward conversations
  • Week of March 25: Entering and leaving conversations in small talk situations

The topics above are only suggested themes for the discussions, so feel free to bring your own themes and questions to each ECCG hub. The grad peer facilitators are there to support your spoken ideas and they value your contributions!
