Mindfulness Meditation for Grad Students

Join us to practise secular mindful meditation techniques that will increase your relaxation and focus. Led by a facilitator from the Meditation program at the Multi-Faith Centre.

Spring Hike to Evergreen Brickworks

Ever wanted to visit Evergreen Brickworks? Now is your chance to explore this fantastic historical site in Toronto while indulging in a little spring shopping and walking. Join Gradlife at Castlefrank Station, where we’ll start our walk to Evergreen Brickworks through the hidden wooded-valleys of Toronto, before stopping to explore the farmer’s market. Bring comfy shoes, a camera, and your wallet to grab some hand-made souvenirs.

Flexible Futures for Graduate Students and Post-docs

Workshops are held in the Grad Room at 66 Harbord Street unless stated otherwise. All workshops are open to Master and Docotoral students and Post-Doctoral fellows. Please register for the interested session(s) through the Career Learning Network (CLN).

Friday June 8, 9am to 4pm – Career Planning and Exploration Day (Bahen 2145)
Friday June 15, 9am to 4pm – Job Search and Applications Day (Bahen 2145)
Saturday June 16, 9am to 4 pm – Interviewing and Negotiating Day (Bahen 2145)
Friday June 22, 1pm to 3pm – Applying for Faculty Positions
Friday June 29, 1pm to 3pm – Career Planning for Flexible Futures

Topics in other sessions include:

  1. Exploring options based on education and interests
  2. Building experience and planning a career
  3. Developing resilience, personal identity and community for self-directed career management
  4. Job search strategies and labour market research
  5. Creating application materials such as resumés, cover letters, portfolios,and CVs
  6. Interview strategies and practice
  7. Planning for lifelong effectiveness and authenticity in workplaces and careers
