This summer, 28 Master of Museum Studies (MMSt) students completed more than 7,800 hours of work-integrated learning through internships with 23 museums, galleries, archives, cultural organizations and public institutions across Canada. Their placements gave students hands-on experience in areas ranging from collections and archives to exhibitions, visitor experience and public programming.

Students gained experience at organizations including the Royal Ontario Museum, National Gallery of Canada, Art Museum at the University of Toronto, Ontario Science Centre and Toronto Zoo, as well as organizations beyond the traditional museum sector, including Golf Canada, Ontario Heritage Trust and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
The experience culminated in Curating Futures: Emerging Museum Professionals in the Field (MSL3000HY), an exhibition featuring photo stories created by the interns. It runs until September 25 on the ground floor of the Daniels Building, beside the Faculty Lounge, offering a glimpse into the projects, workplaces and experiences behind their summer placements.
