USAIN Conference 2018 Scholarship for Students

The USAIN Awards Committee is now accepting applications for their biennial conference scholarship for library school students. One $1000.00 scholarship will be applied to the cost of attending the USAIN 2018 conference is available to a student interested in pursuing a career in the field of agricultural information. The conference will be held May 13-16, 2018 at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.

To apply, applicants must submit:

  • A cover letter including the following information: Name address, e-mail address, and phone number, information about program of study and a brief explanation of why they are interested in attending the USAIN conference or how agricultural information fits into their career plans.
  • A typed essay on a separate page or pages addressing the 2018 conference theme: “Consuming Information: Agriculture at theCrossroads of Sustainability.” The essay should be double-spaced, no more than 750 words.

Essays will be judged on the basis of thoughtfulness, quality of writing, and adherence to application guidelines as described above. A check will be presented to the recipient at the USAIN Awards ceremony at the Conference. USAIN reserves the right to withhold the award if there are no suitable applicants.

Deadline: December 1, 2017
