Dr. Reese is a critic and scholar whose research and writings on the representation of Indigenous people in children’s and young adult literature have informed the work of librarians and teachers and other scholars across North America. In this session, she examines cultural appropriation in common phrases, children’s, teen and adult books, as well as in library programs. The event would be of particular interest to staff and students involved with Indigenous studies and/or children’s librarianship.
