Blair is an interdisciplinary research leader and creative practitioner with a decade of experience in research, advisory, and management roles. They have led and advised project teams in many public sector, academic, and entrepreneurial environments. They are a strong advocate for justice, sustainability, integrity, and compassion in the governance of artificial intelligence. 
 
Blair conducts exploratory and applied research on: (1) the application of queer/trans philosophy to AI governance, (2) the design and implementation of AI policies and strategies, (3) the political economy, ecology, and ethics of AI value chains. They also advise organizations and regularly speak in public venues on issues related to AI ethics, policy, and governance. Their creative writing and transmedia storytelling projects explore potential futures for AI governance through the lenses of speculative fiction, glitch aesthetics, and transgender politics. 
 
Blair’s research is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) with a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship (2021-2024), as well as by two Ontario Graduate Scholarships (2019-2020 & 2020-2021). Blair is a member of the Beta Phi Mu International Honor Society for Library and Information Studies, a recipient of the OLA Anniversary Prize, and a two-time recipient of the Norma Epstein Foundation Award in Creative Writing.
