Michel’s research focuses on the role of the internet in facilitating the delivery of public and essential services, and the broader civic policy implications emerging from social-technological interdependency. Michel’s prior research explored the role of internet based technologies in supporting and sustaining the organizational practices of Toronto’s Native Mens Residence.

An actively engaged public policy advocate, Michel is a policy advisor to the City of Toronto on motorcycle related transportation issues, and serves on the city’s new Transportation Safety Advisory Committee in this capacity. Michel has been featured in mainstream media as a commentator on motorcycle safety, and regularly contributes to regional and national publications in this regard.
