P.J. Carefoote is the Head of the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, University of Toronto. He holds a Master of Information Studies from the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto, and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology in History from the Catholic University of Louvain. His areas of research interest include the book in the Middle Ages and the Reformation, as well as issues in the history of literary censorship.
