Storyboarding for museums
In museums, storyboards are a key step in the creation of videos, interviews, and podcasts. This workshop will introduce students to the basics of storyboarding—identifying visitor needs, communication points, and creating a guide that maps out the overall concept.
In this workshop, you’ll:
- Learn about best practice for media pieces within the framework of exhibition design.
- Discuss examples of successful and unsuccessful storyboards.
- Develop a list of user outcomes and compose a “big idea” for a proposed media piece.
- Analyze what’s necessary to communicate, to ensure the outcomes/big idea are clear for visitors.
- Apply these ideas and discussion into the creation of your own storyboard.
