Storyboarding for museums

Storyboarding for museums

In museums, storyboards are a key step in the creation of videos, interviews, and podcasts. This workshop will introduce students to the basics of storyboarding—identifying visitor needs, communication points, and creating a guide that maps out the overall concept.

In this workshop, you’ll:

  • Learn about best practice for media pieces within the framework of exhibition design.
  • Discuss examples of successful and unsuccessful storyboards.
  • Develop a list of user outcomes and compose a “big idea” for a proposed media piece.
  • Analyze what’s necessary to communicate, to ensure the outcomes/big idea are clear for visitors.
  • Apply these ideas and discussion into the creation of your own storyboard.
