To be awarded to full-time PhD students in good academic standing who are within time-limit but are no longer receiving the normal funding package from their graduate unit in the year in which they are applying for this award.

The value of this one-time award varies annually as does the number disbursed.

The criteria for being considered for this award may include, but is not limited to: academic merit and quality of research; the availability of alternative funding; financial need; special features of the research program that may require more time than usual.
