Learning Resources
The Faculty of Information offers a range of learning resources designed to help students with their studies. Our Learning Hub is a dedicated teaching and learning centre that supports students, instructors, staff, and alumni in the pursuit of knowledge and creativity. Through workshops, individual consultations, physical resources and community events, we reinforce curricular and research activity happening across the Faculty of Information, and provide para-curricular and pedagogical instruction of our own.
Our tutors help students develop as writers in ways that will continue to benefit them across their scholarly and professional lives.
iSkills workshops enable students to learn professional, academic and technical skills beyond the classroom. They cover topics and competencies aligned with the Information professions.
A range of laptops, tablets, cameras, projectors, chargers and adapters and other technology are available for students to borrow in the Student Commons.
Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services aims to provide equitable access to education for University of Toronto students with disabilities, health conditions, and diverse ways of learning. We collaborate with the University community to identify and remove barriers for students, and foster inclusion within learning environments. Through a collaborative, individualized, and affirming accommodations process, we support students to achieve their academic goals; engage in personal skill-development and learning processes; and navigate and fully participate in academic life and beyond.
Accommodations can include a wide variety of supports relating to course work, timed assessments (tests/exams/quizzes, etc.), experiential learning (placements, practicums, etc.), lab work, adaptive technology, and more. Each accommodation plan is tailored to students’ specific needs and functional impacts.
Accessibility Services also provides a range of one-on-one, and group-based programming for registered students to build academic skills, cultivate community, and feel empowered to design their university experience.
Once students are registered with Accessibility Services, they are assigned an Accessibility Advisor for ongoing support. If you would like to know more about the accommodations process, such as how to register and other Frequently Asked Questions, the Graduate and Professional Program Student Handbook is a comprehensive resource for both registered and non-registered students interested in accommodations.
