Collaborative Specializations
Collaborative Specializations
Master of Information (MI), Master of Museum Studies (MMSt), and Doctoral students (PhD) are eligible to enroll in a variety of collaborative specializations. These collaborative specializations are the result of cooperation between two or more graduate units (e.g. faculties, departments, centres, or institutes).
An opportunity to pursue specialized subject interests
Collaborative specializations provide students with a broad base from which to explore interdisciplinary areas and allow students to pursue specialized subject interests or special developments within particular disciplines.
The Faculty of Information plays a leading role as a supporting unit for Book History and Print Culture (of which it is a co-founder) and Knowledge Media Design (of which it is the home unit). It regularly contributes resources to these two units and to Sexual Diversity Studies

To be eligible for a collaborative specialization:
Students must be admitted/enrolled/registered in the MI, MMSt or PhD programs
Students must be admitted to and enrolled in one of the collaborating graduate units (Students must apply directly to the collaborative graduate unit.)
Requirements
Students must fulfill all the degree program requirements for the MI, MMSt or PhD
Students must fulfill any additional requirements of their specific collaborative program
Upon completion of the collaborative specialization, students’ transcripts will denote a specialization in the particular program area
