Please note that eligibility to accept Teaching Assistantships is dependent upon being located in geographical proximity to the applicable University premises in order to attend and perform your duties on University premises as required, even if some or all of your duties may be performed remotely. Filling Positions Under the CUPE 3902 UNIT 1 Collective Agreement

The Faculty of Information hires Course Instructors and Teaching Assistants in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement. This notice is posted pursuant to the CUPE Local 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement.

Available positions are posted on this page and on the bulletin board opposite room 606 on the 6th floor of the Bissell Building and circulated to students via the iSchool listserv.

Generally speaking, we expect to make decisions concerning courses in the spring for the following academic year. However, some decisions may be made earlier or later than these time frames, depending on circumstances. Unexpected vacancies may arise at any time.

The Faculty of Information hires sessional lecturers to deliver some of its graduate courses. Open postings are posted on this page and on the bulletin board opposite room 606 on the 6th floor of the Bissell Building and circulated to our Unit 3 pool.

When doctoral students are not available to serve as Teaching Assistants, the Faculty may seek to hire a Sessional Instructional Assistant under the “Unanticipated Vacancy” procedure. Ads for these positions will be posted in the same manner and location as described above.

Filling Positions Under the CUPE 3902 UNIT 3 Collective Agreement

1) For Sessional Lecturers

How to submit an application:

The Faculty of Information may hire Sessional Lecturers to deliver some of its graduate courses. Specific courses will be posted on this page, and on the bulletin board opposite Rm. 606 on the 6th floor of the Bissell Building, 140 St. George St. To be considered for a position, an application and Curriculum Vitae must be submitted to:

General Information:

Generally speaking, we expect to make decisions concerning courses in May-July for the following Fall or Spring courses, and in March for the immediately following Summer courses. However, some decisions may be made earlier or later than these time frames, depending on circumstances. Unexpected vacancies may arise at any time.

Applications will be retained for twenty-four (24) months. Persons who submit applications and CVs will receive emailed job postings for specific positions for the subsequent twenty-four (24) months.

This notice is posted pursuant to the CUPE Local 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. The Collective Agreement can be found here. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional II or Sessional III in accordance with Article 14:12.
