Purpose and Eligibility

In recognition of the importance that both the Faculty and University place on supporting Indigenous student education, a scholarship was established through a collaboration between the Ontario Library Association and the family of Grace Buller. Initially founded in 1987 by the Ontario Library Association with support from the then Ministry of Culture and Communications, this scholarship honours the remarkable contributions of Grace Buller. Throughout her 40-year tenure in the Ontario public library community, Grace Buller dedicated her efforts to supporting equity-deserving groups, particularly through her work with provincial advisory committees focusing on services for Indigenous communities.

Based on Academic Merit, Indigenous Studies, Community, or other related considerations and criteria, this scholarship is open to students who self-identify as Indigenous (Inuit, Native, Status Indian, Non-Status Indian, Indigenous Members of First Nations or Metis) and are enrolled in the Faculty of Information

Previous and intended future contributions to the student’s community will be considered.

Preference given to new applicants.
