The Beyond Disinformation Symposium will bring together scholars from a joint international research cluster with the Universities of Melbourne, Manchester and Toronto.
Three panel-style workshops will feature doctoral and other graduate-level research exploring the topic “What lies beyond disinformation?” from diverse Journalistic, Legal, and Economic comparative case studies. The goal is to explore original MA and PhD research on the topic while workshopping graduate RA contributions – completed over the summer under the supervision of our faculty research cluster – for an upcoming SSHRC Knowledge Synthesis Report on the Evolving Narratives of CulturesandHistories.
Dr. Vitaly Kazakov will be visiting from Aarhus University for his keynote lecture at the Faculty of Information on October 8th “Sportswashing and the Disinformation Lifecycle”, which will explore the strategic political (mis)communication of global sporting events by authoritarian governments.
