Bio

Assistant Professor (CLTA) Nusrat Jahan Mim is an Urban Designer, HCI researcher, and trained architect with a Doctorate in Urban Planning and Design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Her research lies at the intersection of urban built environments and information technology. She investigates how spatial and technical designs either challenge or reinforce social exclusions in cities and develops alternative solutions for marginalized contexts. In her recent work, Nusrat integrates AI and urban design politics to envision and design more inclusive cities for the future.

Memberships and Awards

Mim’s contributions have been recognized with awards at leading design and computing venues, including ACM CHI, Lafarge-Holcim, and Laka International. She has also been honored with the Mellon Fellowship, the Aga Khan Endowment Award, and the Lakshmi Mittal South Asia Institute Fellowship. Before her doctoral studies, Mim received the prestigious AIA Henry Adams Medal from the Syracuse School of Architecture for achieving the highest academic rank in her M.Arch. She earned her B.Arch with distinction from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
