The Accessibility Interests Working Group (AIWG) will be hosting an educational panel on Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Compliance and Practical Applications.

Event description:

As the focus of the Faculty of Information is on the training and preparation of new information industry professionals, this event will expose students to AODA implementation realities that they might expect in the workplace. This event will assist students in thinking critically how to apply lessons of accessibility that they are exposed to through the courses at the Faculty beyond their time as graduates.

Event Speakers:

  • David Lepofsky (AODA Alliance)
  • Doris Rajan (IRIS Institute)
  • Lisa Liskovoi (Inclusive Design Research Centre)
  • Amelia Roblin (Product Designer @ Cognizant)
  • Ben Poyton (AODA Officer @ University of Toronto St. George)

The format of the event will be as follows:

  • 12:10pm- 1:30pm: Panelist Presentations
  • 1:30pm – 2:15pm: Panelist Discussion
  • 2:15pm – 3:00pm: Professional Networking

Food will be provided for those attending in-person.

This event is funded via the EDI Student Initiative Fund at the Faculty of Information.
