Bio

Ashique Ali Thuppilikkat is a PhD student at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. His research focuses on exploring the role of technology in resistance practices within marginalized communities. Specifically, he is interested in understanding the dynamics of unionization among workers in digital labor platforms, as well as the role of technology in social movements and anti-caste resistance. He is part of the Socio-technical Resistance and Ethical Technologies (STREET) Lab, University of Toronto.
