Bio

Josh Wilson (he/him) is a PhD student whose work is engaged with Critical Archival Studies. Josh’s research focuses on reforming traditional archival practice by studying the experiences, perspectives, and labour of archivists using interdisciplinary critical lenses from feminist theory, affect theory, and more. He’s interested in the interaction between critical archival theory and practice to understand the possibilities for creating archival praxes that are always already just, inclusive, and anti-oppressive. Josh’s current research interests focus on identifying formations of liberatory archival praxis and imagining the ways that practitioners and archival environments can be positioned to support community empowerment.
