Background
What is the goal of the revitalization project?
By creating newly accessible and inclusive spaces, including classrooms, research and design labs, and makerspaces, the revitalized Bissell Building will foster open collaboration, active learning and impactful research.
A new front door, which opens onto the St. George campus, will modernize the Faculty of Information’s identity and create connections to the city and community partners.
What is the history of the Bissell Building?
Completed in 1973, the 7,000-square-metre Bissell Building is one of three heritage buildings that form the renowned Robarts Library complex, one of Toronto’s brutalist masterpieces.
