Bio
Susan Maltby has a Master of Art Conservation, specializing in artefact conservation, from Queen’s University. Her consulting firm, Maltby & Associates Inc., was established in 1988 after she worked for the Canadian Conservation Institute for four years. She is a Fellow of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. In her private practice, she has extensive experience working with a variety of museums and museum collections.
She has taught in the Museum Studies program for over 30 years. She also teaches “Collections Care” for the University of Victoria’s Cultural Resource Management Program, has taught in the Art Conservation Program at Queen’s University, and was an instructor at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She is a regular columnist for Coin World (“Preserving Collectibles”) and has contributed to Scott’s Stamp Monthly and Old-House Journal.
