Getting a job in government
Access to government careers may seem mysterious and complicated – for good reason! This workshop is a candid and pragmatic insight into the government recruitment programs that provide the best opportunities for students to enter the public service. In this workshop, students will:
- Learn how to translate academic passions and experiences for a policy environment
- Hear about the emerging employment trends and valued skills at government agencies
- Consider how to address ‘bilingual preferred’ roles as English-only applicants
- Discover unconventional approaches to public service exam prep
- Design a tailored networking introduction with feedback
- Receive tips for applications
