Collecting and critically analyzing policy documentation for research

Public policy documents can be a rich source for understanding alignment, discord and tension between the various stakeholders that inform public policy decisions. This workshop will introduce the tools, methods, and frameworks for collecting and analyzing public policy documents for critical policy research.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Explore the research benefits of analyzing public policy documents;
  • Learn useful methods, tools, and frameworks for identifying and collecting relevant public policy documents;
  • Learn how to identify the key themes and stakeholders implicated in public policy documents;
  • Develop a group analysis of real-world public policy documents.
