Coordinator, Creative ServicesDESCRIPTIONPosting #: 22-608EXTJob Title: Coordinator, Creative ServicesLocation: Toronto Reference LibraryStatus: Permanent Full-TimeHours Per Week & Schedule of Work: (Subject to change in accordance with Article 19)35 hours per week.Weeks 1 & 2:Mon. to Fri. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.Job Summary:Under the direction of the designated manager, the position is responsible for supervising the creation, production and distribution of print, digital and multimedia design assets for use across all TPL channels, and overseeing the execution of TPL’s brand guidelines and visual identity, internally and externally, to ensure that communications products are compelling, enhance the image of the Library, and are supportive of Library policy.Duties:Direct and supervise the operations and staff associated with the Library’s creative services function, which includes print, digital and multimedia design, production and distributionEstablish and maintain standards for high quality design and production which reflect Library Board policies and TPL’s brand, and which enhance the effectiveness of public service deliveryReview and sign off on creative briefs and ensure that communications products are successfully executed according to the briefsConsult with creative services staff before and during production to ensure that design is appropriate, compelling and informative, and that established standards are applied to the wide variety of communications products including offline and online publications, advertising, collateral, displays, audio/video assets, etcSupport the life cycle management of communications assets (text, media, images, graphics and logos); ensure that rights management and governance is followed at all times; oversee processes to protect library assetsEstablish unit priorities and ensure the timely continuity of production from client contact, through design, production and distributionSupport the procurement process in identifying and selecting appropriate vendor partners for production of communications products; manage vendor relationships with respect to design, production and distribution, ensuring adherence to quality, timelines and budgetAct as a resource to Library clients in the development of appropriate communications products and promotions, with consideration to intended audience, message, budget and intent of the communications productAssist Manager in the development of reports and unit budget; provide verbal input for staff performance evaluationsAssess the need for new technology and/or processes in the areas of design and production and recommend acquisition/implementation as appropriateMonitor unit expenditures and budgetsArrange for, and monitor performance of, outside suppliers of goods and servicesPerform other related duties as requiredQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in graphic design, and/or digital media design and production, and a minimum of three (3) years experience in print and digital design, and marketing, advertising or promotion, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated creativity in design and marketingHighly proficient in graphic design and digital media applications; knowledge of emerging design and digital media technologies and adept at learning new technologiesDemonstrated experience with AODA standards and best practices in accessible design and productionProficient with Digital Asset Management Systems and experience overseeing processes to manage and protect communications assetsDemonstrated supervisory experience and ability to effectively train and direct staffDemonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently and work well under pressure and tight deadlinesSuperior oral and written communication skillsAbility to perform duties with judgement and initiative, and carry out instructions in an independent mannerAbility to work co-operatively with others in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environmentSalary: $85,267.20 per annum (2023 Rates)How to Apply:E-mail your cover letter and resume, quoting the Job Posting #, to recruitment@tpl.ca.
