Job Description
Mondex Corporation is currently seeking a Document Management Specialist based in Toronto, to add to its international team of historians, researchers and legal experts. Working together seamlessly, we help clients worldwide to recover important works of art looted during conflict periods, in particular the Second World War. The Document Management Specialist would primarily work on projects including digitization of physical texts, utilizing different archival websites to compile information, creating various databases and gathering metadata to aid our team in various provenance research projects regarding looted works of art.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 2 year experience working with digital asset management systems, Sharepoint preferred.
- Previous experience in digitization projects in a cultural organization
- Demonstrated experience in cataloguing, data entry and working knowledge of metadata standards in any information management systems (CMS, DAMS)
- Experience in document/book scanning,
- Excellent attention to detail, focus, and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS office 365 (excel, word) and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Reading skills in French is required
- Must be able to take direction as well as work independently
- Must be flexible as project priorities may change over time
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with a CZUR book scanner
- Familiarity with Zotero
- Familiarity with working in additional online media formats (including jpeg, tiff, pdf,)
- Ability to seek out and identify appropriate alternative resources online, in order to compile bibliographic research as necessary
- Interest in and/or experience with work involving historic artwork, or cultural collections
- Fluency or working knowledge of various European languages.
Compensation for the position is salary based and will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s skill and experience level.
