Your Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Services & Support Associate to join our Services team. Reporting to the Manager of Services, you will work closely with the Library Systems & Metadata Coordinator and other members of the Services team to deliver exemplary customer support to Ontario’s 24 college libraries. You will have the opportunity to use your library training and strong service orientation to support college library clients across OCLS’s services and systems, including shared library management systems, catalogues, and e-resource access and authentication tools. This is an excellent career opportunity for a self-directed library professional with a solid foundation and interest in library systems, metadata management, and customer service. As a key member of the OCLS team, you’ll work with remarkable colleagues who support each other to meet the system and service requirements of our college clients.

Your Responsibilities 
● Serve as a key contact for college library staff and vendors to support the smooth and efficient delivery of services to the college libraries 
● Working as a member of the Help Desk frontline support team, participate in the triage and resolution of incoming support tickets 
● Distribute and maintain shared metadata for eresource collections across the college system 
● Set up and troubleshoot remote access issues using EZproxy 
● Assist with an internal information management project in Confluence and SharePoint 
● In collaboration with your colleagues, create and maintain internal and external-facing documentation and communications in support of services 
● Work with other OCLS staff to develop tools, protocols, and services that improve efficiency and workflows 
● Maintain knowledge of relevant trends and issues for college library services and resources 
● Participate in additional services and projects as assigned 
 
Here’s What You’ll Need 
The qualifications listed below are highly desirable but not necessarily mandatory. You are invited to demonstrate how your education skills, knowledge, and experience would best fit this position in your letter of application.
Work experience and training: 
● Post-secondary diploma in a Library & Information Technician program or related discipline (required); a Bachelor’s degree would be an asset 
● 1-2 years’ experience working in or with libraries; experience in an academic library or library consortium setting is considered an asset 
● Demonstrated experience providing outstanding customer service
Skills and knowledge: 
● Experience working with Alma/Primo VE 
● Experience working with MARC records in MARCedit, setting up macros and cataloguing a wide range of materials and media using RDA standards 
● Experience with collaboration tools, e.g. Confluence, Office 365 (incl. SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) and/or Google Workspace applications

● Demonstrated ownership and pride in the quality of customer service provided to both internal and external customers 
● Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities 
● Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex or ambiguous information clearly and concisely 
● Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities 
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
● Detail-oriented with strong administrative skills
The following would be considered assets:
● Experience with information management 
● Experience with technical writing 
● Familiarity with metadata schemas such as Dublin Core 
● Fluency in French
