Job Description
Position Title: Library Manager
Organization Name: Dufferin County Law Association
Job Type: Permanent Part time
Hours per Week: 15
Work Schedule: 3 days per week between the hours of 9:00 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday
Compensation: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour, 6% vacation pay plus a comprehensive Benefits Package (after 90 days)
Supervisor: Dufferin County Law Association (DCLA) President

Job Overview:
The Dufferin County Law Association (DCLA) is a professional, member-based association for lawyers in Dufferin County, operating under the guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors. The DCLA operates a small private law library located in the Orangeville Courthouse at 51 Zina Street, Orangeville. The library is part of LiRN (Legal Information and Resource Network), a network of 48 county and district courthouse libraries in Ontario. The library functions as a busy practice resource centre for local lawyers and visiting counsel. As the sole employee, the DCLA Library Manager is responsible for all aspects of the law library and reports directly to the DCLA Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:
. Client Services: The Library Manager is responsible for providing reference and directional assistance, fulfilling document delivery requests, instructing and supporting patrons using print and electronic resources, instructing and supporting patrons using library equipment
. Collections: The Library Manager is responsible for acquisitions, processing, circulation, shelving and collection maintenance, deselection of the collection
. Marketing and Promotion: The Library Manager is responsible for marketing the library collection and services, circulating emails relevant to law practice from 3rd parties, assisting with the maintenance of the DCLA website
. Administrative: The Library Manager is responsible for bookkeeping, banking, drafting and adhering to a library budget and providing regular financial reports to LiRN, filing looseleaf releases, compiling library statistics, ordering supplies, managing mail, coordinating library access cards, processing annual memberships, organizing continuing education sessions for the local bar, organizing the AGM, and assisting with the organization of occasional social events

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
. Undergraduate degree or equivalent
. Demonstrated leadership skills
. Demonstrated planning, decision making and problem-solving skills
. Able to work independently
. Strong user-service focus
. Adept at establishing effective working relationships
. Excellent oral and written communication skills
. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
. Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting software

Additional Qualifications (to further assess candidate suitability):
. Experience or training in a library setting
. Experience in Reference services
. Knowledge of legal and legislative resources
. Experience with preparing and managing budgets, payroll, accounts receivable/payable, reconciliation
. Experience with Sage Accounting software
. Familiarity with WordPress

Salary and Benefits:
. $25.00 to $29.00 per hour, 6% vacation pay
