IAACC presents The Mohawk Warrior Society film screening & book discussion

Join the IAACC for a discussion of the book “The Mohawk Warrior Society: A Handbook on Sovereignty and Survival“, film screening, and a public roundtable with members of the Kanien’kehá:ka resistance, in celebration of Indigenous culture and resilience. The book is an oral history account by key figures of the Rotisken’rhakéhte revival in the 1970s, with the compilation telling the story of the Warriors’ famous flag and other art, their armed occupation of Ganienkeh in 1974, and the role of their constitution, the Great Peace.

The event will be on December 12, 2022 from 4PM-7PM. This will be an open event, so just drop by Hart House Music Room to attend.

Itinerary:

4:00pm – 4:30pm: Welcome and Introduction
4:30pm – 5:30pm: Film Screening: “Mohawk Nation” (1978)
5:30pm – 7:00pm: Round Table/Open Discussion
