Broaden your awareness and critical insight into the political, cultural and economic issues faced by First Nations, Inuit and Metis nations and peoples across Turtle Island.

The Faculty of Information’s Indigenous Action and Anti-Colonialism Committee (IAACC) has secured funding to allow students, staff and faculty to take the Indigenous Canada certificate course offered by the Faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta.

The course is a 12-lesson Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), exploring the different histories and contemporary perspectives on Indigenous-settler relations. The range of topics covered includes the fur trade, land claims and environmental impacts, legal systems, political conflicts and alliances.

The certificate course fee is $60, and participants should submit their registration payment receipt to Kathy Shyjak (kathy.shyjak@utoronto.ca) for reimbursement.

Details about the certificate course and how to register can be found here.
