Rafael Grohmann is Assistant Professor of Media Studies whose research focuses on Critical Platform and Data Studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), with a graduate cross-appointment at the Faculty of Information (iSchool). He leads the DigiLabour Initiative and is a researcher with Fairwork as well as an editorial board member at the journals, Big Data & Society and Work, Employment and Society. He is also a member of the Scholars Council of UCLA’s Center for Critical Internet Inquiry (C2i2) and a founding board member of the Labor Tech Research Network.
Before joining the University of Toronto, he was Assistant Professor of Communication at Unisinos University, Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of São Paulo.
