Sexual & gender diversity, inclusion, and the GLAM sector: Principles, approaches, & applications

In this session, facilitated by UofT’s Sexual and Gender Diversity Office, participants will:

  • Explore key terms and concepts in relation to sexual & gender diversity, including the important distinctions between sex, gender, and sexuality
  • Examine messages that we receive about sex, gender, and sexuality, how these are shaped by other intersections of identity, and how the GLAM field can play a role in reinforcing and/or challenging these messages
  • Identify key sites of harm and marginalization for diverse 2SLGBTQ+ people, with an eye on how these emerge within GLAM fields
  • Assess case scenarios to strategize around strengthening the capacity of GLAM fields to enhance equity and inclusion for diverse 2SLGBTQ+ communities
