Overview

The field of music librarianship provides unique opportunities to explore a multitude of different aspects of librarianship, including special collections/formats, metadata, reference, archival curation, digital humanities, collection policy and development, and instruction. This workshop will provide an overview of what makes music librarianship a wonderfully complex and multi-faceted career.


Learning Outcomes

The learning outcome of the class is for you to:

    • Learn more about music collection assessment and development.
    • Introduce you to music reference and research.
    • Have an overview of different formats within music collections.
    • Learn more about copyright considerations.
    • Learn more about outreach and professional development opportunities.
