Overview

Zotero is a free open-source tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share research. Not only can Zotero simplify your citations, it can also help you organize your reading notes.

Join this 2-hour workshop to see how Zotero can help support your research and coursework.

Open to all experience levels.


Learning Outcomes

This session is split into 3 sections. If you are already a basic Zotero user, you have the option to join only the second half of the workshop (you are welcome to join the whole workshop too!):

    • 01:00 PM–2:00 PM will be an introduction to Zotero. By the end of this section your will be able to:
      • Save full-text references in Zotero from many different sources (e.g. in Zotero, using Firefox or Chrome).
      • Generate citations and bibliographies using Zotero, Google, or MS Word.
      • Organize and sync your Zotero library.
      • Use group libraries to share your research and collaborate with colleagues.
    • 02:00 PM–02:30 PM will cover the following advanced Zotero topics:
      • PDF management using the ZotFile plugin.
      • Migrating to Zotero using Zotero Folder Import plugin.
      • Zotero 6’s NEW PDF Reader.
      • Using Zotero to organize your learning.
    • 02:30 PM–03:00 PM will focus on working with you to integrate Zotero into your own personal workflows.
